Gordon Ramsay Restaurants earlier today announced: “that effective immediately we have taken the decision to terminate our agreements at the property (The St Regis Hotel Doha, Qatar) and the restaurants will be closed on a permanent basis.”
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Qatar – Restaurant Opal by Gordon Ramsay Doha Overlooks the Arabian Gulf, and was widely acknowledged as one of the best restaurants in Doha.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Qatar – The Raw Bar restaurant was a collaboration with Chef Elias Gemayel, with an extensive range of caviars, oysters, carpaccio, ceviche, sushi and sashimi with fine wines, Champagnes, and exclusive cocktails.
The news further read: Gordon Ramsay Restaurants has enjoyed enormous success over the last eight years operating restaurants at The St Regis Hotel Doha, Qatar.
Alongside the closure statement no other information was available currently from the press team.
We did ask if the closures were as a consequence of the Covid-19 crisis and received the following reply from a spokesperson for the group: “This does not have a direct link to Covid-19, however we are using this time to review our businesses across the globe and make changes where we feel necessary.”
We reported recently that Gordon Ramsay has been working with banks to secure the future of his restaurant business from the ongoing impact of Covid-19 – Gordon Ramsay seeks liquidity – We assume the closures in Qatar are part of this process.
