Nando’s accelerate reopening – Following a reopening trial of 4 London restaurants and 2 in Manchester Nando’s are now accelerating reopening with 54 more being rolled out.
The accelerated reopening process started earlier this week with both click and collect and delivery services.
One particular focus of the plan is to focus on all staff wearing full PPE, which as well as the good news of reopening, assures health risks are minimised. Nando’s have underlined that PPE is available to all staff, regular and thorough hand washing has been another health focus.
Nando’s joins many other QSR brands now fully preparing for a return to the new QSR world.
McDonald’s has plans to reopen all of its UK and Ireland restaurants in early June.
Burger King has now reopened over 100 of their restaurants for drive-through and delivery, with a rollout planned for a further 20 restaurants a week.
QSR chicken chain KFC is opening across a mix of locations currently. The locations include London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Hampshire, Staffordshire, Sussex, and Greater Manchester.
Grab and Go chain Subway is reopening 600 sandwich stores across the UK.
Greggs the bakery chain is selling food and hot drinks from a limited menu to walk-in customers at a small number of outlets in the north-east of England. Social distancing measures were not detailed.
Nando’s accelerate reopening – While still a only a tiny percentage of hospitality’s overall QSR capacity is currently reopening, it is encouraging to see the first shoots of recovery.
