Compass acquires cloud canteen – Foodservice giant Compass Group have acquired Feedr, the start-up meal delivery service provider for the workplace.
In a deal completed at the beginning of March with a value of circa £19 million. The strategic foresight of the move would seem to have already paid a huge dividend as the impact from Covid-19 continues to grow.
As UK PLC prepares to return to the workplace, the health and wellbeing of employees is paramount. As such, controlling risk management from workplace eating, and drinking is a top priority. As we have reported on recently from workplace foodservice clients.
Feedr is a curated online marketplace of healthy artisan food vendors available to corporate office catering and workplace food delivery. The platform, known by many as the ‘cloud canteen’, enables businesses to order high quality food for workplace breakfasts, meetings, and lunches.
How Feedr works and the marketing message to the workplace and foodservice businesses is both simple and strong. It can be seen in the video below.
As foodservice moves back into the workplace processes that can be executed online will grow though simply reducing the need for human interaction.
