Restaurant chains Burger King, KFC and Pret A Manger are all reopening a limited number of their restaurants for collection and/or delivery while observing current Government Covid-19 guidelines.
Pret a Manger will reopen 10 outlets starting today for delivery and/or takeaway only and are all closely located to London hospitals, St Thomas’, Royal Brompton, University College Hospital, St George’s, St John & St Elizabeth and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
The chosen venues will open from 8.00 to 14.00 run by 160 staff who all volunteered to work alongside new safety standards with two-metre social distancing imposed both front and back of house.
Pret is providing all NHS workers with a 50 per cent discount for the rest of April following the reinstatement of their offer before lockdown.
Burger King is will reopen four restaurants with a reduced choice of menu items, two are in Bristol, one in Coventry, and one in Swindon. All workers will wear PPE equipment and will be re trained in running takeaway kitchens hygienically.
Burger King is donating 1,000 meals per week to staff working at NHS hospitals nearby the reopened restaurants.
KFC have also reopened 11 of their restaurants and like Burger King they have a limited menu. The restaurants are located in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Aldershot, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Stockport, and Tamworth.
KFC have already donated thousands of meals from their reopened restaurants to those on the frontline, including the NHS and key workers, in partnership with Deliveroo, and will continue to do as long as the situation continues.
The focus of all three restaurants to take care of the people in the NHS who take care of us all is one that we are happy to publish, and one that we warmly applaud. Thank you
