Liverpool caterers support the North West’s frontline as Relish launch new food production and delivery service.
The service supports the North West’s frontline staff and most at-risk individuals.
The company will be delivering direct to businesses, including charities, schools, community centres, homeless shelters, housing associations, care facilities and hospitals.
Organisations who, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, are suffering from staff shortages or have usual supply lines interrupted.
As an events and catering company, Relish initially saw much of their business diminished due to the cancellation or postponement of events.
The team, however, passionately believe in positivity and have flipped the operation of their business to cater for the region’s most in-need.
It is now utilising its resources to benefit vulnerable individuals and support organisations with the preparation and delivery of meals for both staff and patients.
Since launch Relish has produced over 5,000 meals working in partnership with the Liverpool 6 Community Association and with Lord Mayor Anna Rothery.
Relish can now provide 5,000 pre-prepared meals per day.
Its fleet of catering vans can deliver next day to freezers across Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
To ensure the service is accessible to those who need it most, Relish is offering food and drink at half its usual price.
Relish is covering the cost of production and delivery.
Staff volunteering their time to ensure that the operation runs smoothly. The company also has plans to deliver £2,000 worth of meals to food banks and charities over the coming weeks.
Chris Foulkes, Managing Director at Relish, said: “We wanted to adapt our services to create an offering that can help to take some of the pressure off our hospitals, care homes, social housing groups and keep them functioning during this period.”
Anna Rothery, Lord Mayor of Liverpool, said: “Relish are doing a fantastic job at adapting their business to support the most vulnerable in our communities across Liverpool.”
