Bartlett Mitchell, one of the UK’s leading independent caterers, has donated £10,000 to its employees’ favourite charities as part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations. BM team members were invited to nominate their most valued charities for consideration, after it was announced that the company will be making special donations in addition to its existing charitable activity.
Ten charities were selected by founders Wendy Bartlett and Ian Mitchell, along with chief executive Ian Thomas. The £10,000 will be divided equally between the 10 charities.
Executive chairman Bartlett said: “We have chosen charities that are close to the hearts of our people, which was really important to us.
“Bartlett Mitchell has supported a number of charities over the years, both in the UK and overseas. But to celebrate our 20th birthday, we wanted to give our teams the chance to choose who would be the worthy recipients of our donation.”
Organisations that have benefitted from Bartlett Mitchell’s support include City Harvest, which collects and redistributes surplus food to London’s most vulnerable people, UK homelessness charity Centrepoint, the Soppexcca cooperative in Nicaragua, and the Janneh Kunda village school in The Gambia.
Last year the caterer launched a new partnership with The Clink Charity, which sees BM supply its premium coffee brand Perkee and deliver barista skills for prisoners undertaking its training programmes.
The charities that each received £1,000 as part of Bartlett Mitchell’s 20th birthday celebrations were:
- WIRES (Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation)
- The Multiple Sclerosis Society
- The Rowan Hospice
- PCD Support
- Surrey Search & Rescue
- Barking & Dagenham Scouts
- Chemogiftbags
- Bravehound
- Pancreatic Cancer UK
- The Calm Zone
We would like to say Happy 20th Birthday to the team at Bartlett Mitchell and congratulate them on such a notable way of celebrating.
