Olga Polizzi’s three elegant hotels across the South of England; Hotel Tresanton in Cornwall, Hotel Endsleigh in Devon, and her newest acquisition, The Star in East Sussex, will now be known as The Polizzi Collection.
As usual, with Olga Polizzi at the helm, the new hotel’s interior design is exceptional. The Star will again show her preferred combination of quirky and contemporary elegance alongside period features, retaining the individual character of the property.
The Polizzi Collection is family run; Olga Polizzi works closely with her two daughters, Alex and Charlie, in creating hotels that share the ethos of great service, superb style and total relaxation for the guest. Alex is in partnership with her mother for the first time at The Star at Alfriston in East Sussex. They have just closed for a major renovation and are hoping to reopen in Summer 2020. Meanwhile, Charlie, based between Cornwall and London, helps ensure the smooth running of both the other hotels.
Speaking of the news Olga Polizzi said: “Given our recent acquisition of The Star at Alfriston, it made sense to bring our three hotels together, and make them more aligned. A great many of our guests are fervent fans of either Endsleigh or Tresanton; we would like them to try both hotels and now all three hotels! Tresanton has wonderful views across the sea to St Anthony’s lighthouse, Endsleigh is set deep in the countryside in one of Humphry Repton’s historic gardens, The Star is in an unspoilt medieval village at the foot of the South Downs.; they are each so different, yet complementary.”
Olga Polizzi has hotels in her DNA, she is the eldest daughter of the late Lord Forte, and Deputy Chairman and Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels, a company she created alongside her brother Rocco Forte. When she opened Hotel Tresanton twenty-two years ago, she was widely credited with kick-starting the Cornish revival that is still going strong today. Doubtless, The Polizzi Collection is destined to similarly make an imprint in the world of hotels.
