Plus, a new Chef Essentials feature area has been announced, dedicated to showcasing the tools, gadgets, utensils, cookware and small appliances etc that professional chefs can’t work without.
Greener kitchens
Sustainability has always been a big focus for the show and will be for many years to come.
Many operators are already making big strides in reducing their business’ environmental impact – from cutting single-use packaging and disposables to sourcing alternative foods.
An example of the latest energy-efficient/sustainable solutions being showcased at the show this June from Meilo UK
- Meiko UK’s Green Solutions BioMaster
Preparing for the event Paul Anderson, Managing Director, Meiko UK told us: “Meiko manufactures what I consider is the most environmentally sensitive dishwashing equipment in the world. Meiko Green Solutions BioMaster, now additionally and unlike many competitive food waste solutions, takes all food waste including cooking oils and fats and even bones, creating a biomass product that is pumped to holding tanks for collection.
“Suitable for all types of kitchen, there are three BioMaster solutions, including a slimline model. Come and meet us at Commercial Kitchen 2020 to find the solution to all your food waste issues.”
Commercial Kitchen will also be working closely again with The Soil Association’s Green Kitchen Standard and The Sustainable Restaurant Association to create some exclusive Keynote content focusing on how kitchens of all types and sizes can become more time and resource efficient.

Event manager Katie Tyler says: “I love seeing the industry coming together for two days at Commercial Kitchen and experiencing that buzz of business being done. We’ve received tremendous support from across the industry backing our move, saying it’s ‘the right choice at the right time’. For them, Commercial Kitchen at ExCeL London is seen as the key event for 2020. We can’t wait to welcome them there.”
“It’s the best catering equipment show to visit – it’s the best trade show to visit full stop,” says Peter Kitchen, MD of C&C Catering Equipment.
“I look forward to the Commercial Kitchen show each year. I am always looking for the next piece of innovation and this is the show to find it all under one roof,” says Ben Platt, property manager at TGI Fridays UK.
“Commercial Kitchen is one of the key events of the year. Innovation in our industry is moving so fast that the chance to see everything in one place, make it one not to miss. I look forward to seeing it in its new home for 2020,” says Martyn Clover, head of food at Tortilla.
