New vegan breakfast options include new vegan pastries, including the UK’s first vegan raspberry croissants or vegan cinnamon swirls to-go. The pastries are made with vegan-friendly ingredients, using the same method of folding and resting as Caffè Nero’s standard puff pastry, to guarantee a traditional flaky and buttery texture.
New vegan lunch options include Caffè Nero’s Vegan ‘sausage’ roll, which has been created following the popularity of its traditional deli sausage roll. Other lunch choices include the Vegan ‘meatball’ panini, featuring rich tomato ragu, vegan cheese, mayo and spinach within Caffè Nero’s Stonebaked sourdough bread, vegan flatbreads, soups, salads and more.
Vegan desserts additions sees the new creamy vegan salted caramel and chocolate cheesecake debut alongside vegan ginger cake.
Will Stratton-Morris, CEO at Caffe Nero UK said: “We’re committed to continuing to transform high street food and offer our customers more choice and the deliciously good food they deserve, whether that is an indulgent treat that hits the sweet spot or a premium, affordable lunch. This menu is not only perfect for those following a vegan diet or purposely trying to reduce their meat intake, in fact, the products are such high quality that you wouldn’t know they were vegan.”
Caffè Nero is the largest independent coffee house group in Europe with more than 800 stores across the UK. Their move to facilitate and attract vegan customers is yet another indicator that vegan, vegetarian and plant based diets are being catered for by forward looking businesses in hospitality and catering.
