Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has announced the appointment of their new Executive Chef, Roger Olsson. Originally from Sweden, Olsson’s extensive hospitality career spans nearly 22 years with his culinary exploits taking him to a number of luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants in London.
Olsson has held positions at The Ritz London, The Dorchester and The Kimpton Fitzroy London, as well as at restaurants including The Square and Pied a Terre. At Pied a Terre Olsson and the team achieved Michelin star recognition being awarded 1 and then 2 stars.
Olsson’s culinary career began whilst undertaking National Service in the Swedish Navy where he worked as a Commis Chef, developing and sharpening his culinary skills. He then quickly rose through the ranks and moved to the UK where he was based as Senior Sous Chef at Pied à Terre Restaurant for eight years.
Most recently, Olsson held the position as Executive Chef for The Kimpton Fitzroy London before moving to the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill.
Speaking of his appointment, Olsson told us: “I’m excited to join the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill team in the position of Executive Chef. In my role, I’ll be overseeing the full culinary team and I am excited to work alongside the talented chefs at the hotel who share the same ethos as me for producing creative, seasonal and fresh dishes.”
In his new role, Olsson will be overseeing all of the culinary menus and daily operations in the hotel, including the British seasonal dining restaurant The Montagu Kitchen, the award-winning The Churchill Bar & Terrace, In-room dining and the banqueting menus for all of the events and meeting spaces.
