Starhotels has appointed Thomas James Orchard as General Manager of the Starhotels Collezione London Complex, comprising The Franklin, The Gore and The Pelham. Orchard has more than thirty years of luxury hospitality experience leading several hotel properties.
Orchard developed his London experience through his time at The Berkeley Hotel London and COMO Hotels and Resorts, which he joined in 2000. There he began his managerial development path: starting as General Manager at COMO The Halkin, he then moved to lead COMO Metropolitan London until 2005. He assumed the role of Regional General Manager until 2018, managing both properties and the COMO Metropolitan London Apartments.
He has most recently returned from the Caribbean where he was Managing Director and General Manager at Carlisle Bay, Antigua.

Orchard’s role as General Manager of the London Complex spans three distinctively unique properties.
- Established in 1892, The Gore is an icon of British hospitality with 50 unique rooms and suites, housed in a charming townhouse in Queen’s Gate.
- The Franklin is a five-star boutique hotel opened in 2016 and designed by Anouska Hempel.
- The Pelham is a luxury bolthole in the heart of South Kensington with 52 rooms and suites.
