Earlier this month the hotel and hospitality industry came together for the Springboard Awards for Excellence 2019 at the Novotel London West Hotel, hosted by the BAFTA Award Winning actor and comedian Alistair McGowan.
At the ceremony The Grand, Folkestone was awarded the Best Employer Of The Year Award and was highly commended in the categories of – The Best Education & Industry Partnership – and – The Best Staff Retention Award.
To Best Employer Of The Year Award The Grand category required entrants to demonstrate a well-rounded and consistently excellent approach to recruitment, retention and progression as well as involvement with wider industry initiatives, whilst working tirelessly to develop creative and innovative solutions to help businesses upskill their existing employees and create their workforce for the future. Given the criteria for judges to review, winning was quite an accolade.
Robert Richardson FIH, General Manager of The Grand said on winning: “it was a real honour to lead The Grand to being shortlisted alongside some huge names within our global industry. The fact that we brought this award back to Folkestone demonstrates beyond any doubt that it is not the resource that is important, but the impact”.
H&C News would like to offer our congratulations to The Grand, Folkestone and Robert Richardson on winning such an award.
We are very aware of Robert Richardson’s HR policies and procedures, earlier this year Robert wrote for us outlining his personal experiences and views in team building – A GM’s perspective…Given the opportunity hospitality will thrive. We hope you enjoy reading as much as we have.
