Following the huge success of its meat-free sausage roll in January this year, Greggs is now working on launching vegan versions of all of its best-selling products.

Greggs’ meat-free sausage roll has been the biggest vegan food launch of 2019 to date and helped raise profits significantly. In March Greggs announced sales had topped £100m for the first time alongside a 15 per cent rise in profits.

When launched in January the meat-free sausage roll was made available in 950 of their 1,969 stores across the UK. The launch met with unprecedented demand from consumers and Greggs was forced to increase production.

The new range of vegan products doubtless will see production and availability raised substantially and we understand that the new product range will include a vegan doughnut, sweet.

Social media reaction to the meat-free sausage roll in January was colossal doubtless aided by some vegan social celebrities.
