Silverstone Race Circuit already set to host the British Grand Prix for the next five years have now received permission to progress with a new hotel overlooking the Grand Prix Circuit starting grid.
Image by RenzopasoThe new facility, which will have 197 rooms, will provide racegoers and visitors with an entirely new way to experience and enjoy the venue and is set to open in time for the 2020 British Grand Prix next summer.
The news comes after Aylesbury Vale District Council granted Reserved Matters approval in what was the ‘final piece of the jigsaw’. The news follows further detailed design work to ensure the hotel is visually stunning from outside whilst providing an excellent quality interior for guests.
The hotel will overlook the Grand Prix circuit starting grid at Silverstone, allowing guests to enjoy unparalleled viewing opportunities of the many events and activities run at the venue, including the most famous of which, the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
The hotel reaches five stories and provides access, via a footbridge, to the 3,000-capacity, 12,500 sqm Silverstone Wing Conference Centre, and a further restaurant and coffee shop.
The announcement earlier this month that Silverstone will retain the Formula 1 British Grand Prix for at least the next 5 years along with the opening of the new Silverstone Experience visitor attraction in late 2019, will further grow demand for accommodation at the circuit. The state-of-the-art attraction is projected to attract over half a million visitors in its first twelve months of operation.
