Love Well
A holistic approach to supporting the on-trade, Love Well was launched in October 2018 to raise awareness of the physical and mental health crisis within the UK hospitality industry and be the first to provide free support to on-trade operators to help the health and wellbeing of their people.
A Wellness Wednesday Workshop was run in February and an Invest in Rest session followed in April along with nine monthly MiBODY fitness sessions since October, which have been attended by a range of staff working in bars, pubs, restaurants and the wider on-trade.
Kirsty Loveday, Founder and CEO of Love Drinks plus current Drinks Business Woman of the Year, said:
“Our Love Well community continues to grow with our monthly MiBODY fitness sessions and quarterly wellness workshops incredibly well received by teams from independent and group operators across the hospitality sector. Each session provides something specific for attendees to take away but it is as much about talking with peers and connecting. We’re very excited about Tim’s next session and continue to urge managers and leaders to find out more and get involved.”
Tim Etherington-Judge, Founder of Healthy Hospo, commented:
“The hospitality industry sees the highest rate of drug abuse, the third highest rate of alcohol abuse and a third of the people working across the industry suffer from some form of mental health issues. If that is not a crisis, I would like to know what is. For an innovative, fast-paced industry that provides so much pleasure, it’s about time we all started to do more to nurture and care for the mental and physical wellness of the people working in our businesses. ‘Let’s Talk About SECS, Baby’ is a fun seminar where you can discover how SECS can help you and/or your team thrive at work and in life.”
