Crazy Eight will offer this hugely popular socially competitive experience in a subterranean games lounge that boasts high end cocktails from acclaimed mixologists as well as a delicious array of handcrafted pizzas.
Crazy Eight is a newly opened table shuffleboard bar at London Shuffle Club’s Ebor Street site in Shoreditch. You will find it housed in an atmospheric basement that has been converted into a welcoming lounge with panelled walls, polished concrete floors and on trend neon lighting. The bar’s name is derived from an old school variation of the game called Crazy Eight. This industrial yet cosy space is the perfect place to enjoy an authentic game of table shuffleboard.
This most addictive of contests simply involves two teams of players sliding weighted pucks along super smooth tables with the aim of landing them in the scoring zone at the other end. Shufflers can choose to play on either of the two classic 18ft tables or the two ‘snapback’ tables – a square version of the game where the puck is rebounded off a back bar to land in the scoring zone.
Crazy Eight has also enlisted some of London’s most revered mixologists to serve up scrumptious, unusual and innovative cocktails to keep the good times flowing. You can sip them as you play, or around the cocktail island, soaking up the infectious vibes this venue has to offer while watching the master mixers at work. From golden rums to fruity vodkas, lavender infused gins to coffee and tequila specials, the cocktail menu is stimulating. A fine range of spirits, mocktails, premium beers and ciders are also on offer.
You’ll need plenty of energy to keep your game up, so hand-rolled, stone baked pizzas made from the freshest homemade dough are available. These include the vegan friendly Earth Child with beetroot, rocket, red onions, basil and hemp seeds, the Bay of Pigs with salami and double bacon and the chilli beef, peppers and Red Leicester of Lost in Tijuana which sit alongside many more sumptuous options.
The 60 person capacity inimitably chic underground venue is available for private hire as well as walk-ins and offers the most authentic, no gimmicks, shuffleboard experience in all of London.
