Staycity set to open in Liverpool’s Corn Exchange

By James Russell: Staycity set to open in Liverpool’s Corn Exchange

September 18, 2018

Dublin-based Staycity is set to open its latest aparthotel in Liverpool’s Corn Exchange building on 19 October, creating 23 full and part-time jobs in the city.

The Corn Exchange building lies in the heart of the city’s commercial area close to James Street Merseyrail Station and the retail and leisure development Liverpool One. It’s also within walking distance of many of Liverpool’s popular tourist spots including the Cavern Club, Royal Liver building, Albert Dock, the Water Front, Tate Liverpool and the trendy Ropewalks area.

The 212-apartment property will offer studios, one and two-bed apartments all with a kitchen fitted with microwave, fridge, dishwasher and hob as well high-speed broadband, a 40” flat screen TV, rainfall shower and a Handy smartphone to take out and about for free local calls.

Said Staycity Group CEO Tom Walsh: “I’m particularly pleased to be opening in such a vibrant, busy area of this exciting city, which will be perfect for both our leisure and business visitors. Corn Exchange very much fits with our strategy of being in central locations in key UK and European cities.”

Facilities at Staycity Liverpool, Corn Exchange include a Staycafé selling drinks, breakfasts and snacks, a fitness room, comfy lounge for working, relaxing or socialising, a laundry room, 24-hour reception desk and guest parking.

Kearon McCarthy is to be general manager of the new property, as well as managing Staycity’s existing Liverpool site, which opened with 56 apartments on Duke Street in 2009.
