Entrepreneur Richard Wynne, founder of iconic Shoreditch cocktail bar Callooh Callay, and sister-bar Little Bat in islington, has announced the appointment of Sarah McAnulty and Jon Everid to the senior board of Lounge & Liquor Hospitality Group – the parent company covering both bars and Wynne’s bar consultancy.
McAnulty, originally from New Zealand, totals eight enviable years of hospitality sales, brand and marketing experience having worked on communication strategies for some of the capitals best known venues, including Steam & Rye and Archer Street as well as time with Novus Leisure. She takes position as Communication Director of Lounge & Liquor Hospitality Group and will assume lead responsibility for developing the company’s overall comms strategy and in-house messaging for the Callooh Callay and Little Bat brands, as well as overseeing and implementing all external marketing, PR activity for both bars.
Everid comes with nine years’ experience within the hospitality sector, which includes Senior Management at Steam & Rye and GM at Trailer Happiness and The Cocktail Trading Company, as well as bartender and operations work at Mahiki in Dubai. Everid is appointed Head of Creative at Lounge & Liquor Hospitality Group and will be responsible for implementing all in-house activity at the bars, both from an operational and creative level; as well as developing the menu creatives (something for which Callooh Callay has become renowned), bar takeovers, pop-up events and relationships with guest drinks brands and other third party collaborations.
The pair will officially start their new permanent roles next month, having worked with Wynne on a consultancy basis since the start of the year, which has included the re-launch of the Jubjub bar and monthly drinks brand takeovers at Callooh Callay, as well as overseeing a bar refurb and launch of the new weekend brunch menu at Little Bat.
Of McAnulty & Everid’s appointments, Wynne comments: “I am thrilled to announce the official promotion of Sarah and Jon to the senior board at Lounge & Liquor Hospitality Group. They are an ambitious, driven and creative force, who together bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry, not to mention a host of new ideas that will assist with our long-term growth strategy, whilst still maintaining the quality delivery of our product in the short term. It’s been a damn exciting year for us so far and we’ve got some major new projects in the pipeline for the new year. But first we’ve got Callooh’s 10th anniversary in November and that’s going to be one hell of a party! And I’m glad to have these guys onboard to help make that happen.”
The trio are currently planning activity for the lead up to Callooh Callay’s 10th anniversary this November, with big plans to celebrate the milestone birthday – all currently top secret. Although Wynne has hinted that he wants to ensure there’s (at least one) huge party to thank all the bartenders, staff and customers who have made Callooh Callay an international award-winning success over the past decade.
