By James Russell: Muffin Break continues expansion drive in North East England

August 21, 2018

Growing café-bakery chain Muffin Break cut the ribbon to its new premises in Trinity Walk shopping centre Wakefield on Thursday 16th August, with queues of excited customers ready and waiting for them and a further 6 café-bakeries in the pipeline and 10 more in total to open in the next year.

Muffin Break UK have over 60 café-bakeries nationwide and is rapidly gaining in popularity due to its delicious freshly baked range of muffins, sandwiches and other snacks, plus its premium Arabica coffee. On the day of the launch, customers were thrilled with the new menu that they had to offer to the local area, complimenting with vegan and gluten free options too!

The ribbon was cut on the day with a guest appearance from Muffin Man, the Muffin Break mascot, who was giving away free samples. The new store also gave away 25 golden tickets, with prizes for the first 25 customers.

With over 200 muffins sold within 4 hours on the first day, it is clear there was an opening in the Wakefield café-bakery market for them.  Customers were commenting saying the muffins were “10 out of 10” because they were freshly baked on the day and that they were excited about the the great choice and selection that Muffin Break added to Trinity Walk and Wakefield.

Muffin Break is part of an expanding chain of popular locally-run cafés with 10 more to open in the next year. Each store offers a diverse menu, which is full of fresh food options made on site daily by in-store bakers using high quality, fresh ingredients. On the menu are delicious muffins, cakes, slices, cookies and scones; alongside quiches, sandwiches, soups, wraps and paninis. Customers can also treat themselves to a cup of Muffin Break’s special blend of coffee, which is made from 100% Arabica beans.

Muffin Break is actively seeking new franchisees in the North East of England who would like to experience the freedom of running their own business, whilst taking advantage of a valued brand name and the company’s comprehensive training and marketing support.

Joshua Nixon, Head of Estates at Muffin Break says: “We’re growing in popularity in Yorkshire and generally in the North East so the opening in Wakefield is a welcome addition to the chain.  We would really like to hear from more prospective franchisees looking to open a high quality café-bakery with the backing of a strong brand.”

“We have developed strong relationships with major retail landlords, allowing us to provide our franchisees with highly desirable retail locations, as well as ongoing support in everything from marketing to operations.”

Michelle Orr, Muffin Break Marketing Manager adds:  “We’re really excited about opening in Trinity Walk and bringing the magic of Muffin Break to Wakefield.  We are sure shoppers will appreciate that we use the best quality ingredients, sourced locally and inspired by the seasons, and that our menu is freshly baked or prepared on site every day.”

Michelle Orr also explained the secrets behind the café brand’s success: “Nothing beats freshly baked food or coffee. At Muffin Break we believe the more good going in, the more good coming out. It is our mission to add a little goodness to people’s every day.

We do this by making deliciously good food, baked fresh every day in our kitchen right here in-store. We don’t buy our products ready-made, as a lot of our competitors do, and go to great lengths to ensure the best ingredients go into our products – that’s what sets us apart.”

Muffin Break are passionate about sourcing only the best Arabica beans, to deliver the perfect coffee for our thriving local community.
