Following its success as a winter destination, Valsana, Arosa will open for its first summer season.
Valsana is an eco-powerhouse, running on 95% recycled energy, with a self-sufficient energy system called an ice battery. The eco philosophy runs throughout the hotel from the chunky wood furniture, floors and exterior, made with the cladding of the previous property, to the coconut fibre mattresses. Each room has its own vintage record player and the large balconies all have hammock chairs for an afternoon of reading from the collection of hand selected books in your room. Spend the evening relaxing at Valsana Spa with views of the pine forests.
Restaurant Twist has a light and holistic approach to Swiss mountain cuisine and caters for vegetarian or vegan customers with the bulk of the menu being plant-based. Guests have the option to add locally sourced fish or meat.
Arosa is the perfect summer destination for all ages with exceptional hiking around the lakes, wild swimming, fly-fishing, horse riding and mountain biking. Valsana runs yoga, trail running and hiking retreats and has its own bike shop and tennis courts on site.
Children can learn to sail on Lake Obersee or swing through the tress at the Arosa Rope Park. This summer, Arosa will open Switzerland’s first bear sanctuary, home to four rescued brown bears.
