Street food favourites Mother Clucker to open it’s first bricks and mortar site!

By James Russell: Street food favourites Mother Clucker to open it’s first bricks and mortar site!

May 6, 2018

For the past five years, Mother Clucker has been the authority in Southern fried chicken on the streets of London. Hungry street food aficionados have delighted over Mother Clucker’s signature melt-in-your-mouth chicken strips and fiery cajun fries, all washed down with the best of craft beers. Now opening its first permanent joint, Mother Clucker will be doing fast food right. This isn’t an average chicken shop – expect eye-catching decor, delicious drinks, banging music, and most importantly seriously good food. Mother Clucker Exmouth Market Joint will be opening from Tuesday 15th May

The original, independent fried chicken food truck in London, Mother Clucker has quickly become one of the best and most renowned street food traders in the city. Trading from their signature converted US Army Ambulance, the Mother Clucker team and ‘Cluck Truck’ have navigated the streets of the capital, serving up mouth-watering Southern fried chicken and more to hungry Londoners, celebs and travelling fans from across the globe at KERB markets, Street Feast, Old Truman Brewery and Field Day to name a few locations. Lauded as one of London’s most life-changing street food destinations and “so delicious that you’ll still be dreaming of it come breakfast the next day”, Mother Clucker’s cult following have been waiting with bated breath as the team prepare for one of the biggest moments in London’s rich street food history.

Now – five years since the first strip was fried – Mother Clucker is taking the next step in worldwide chicken domination and opening its first bricks and mortar site. Located in Exmouth Market, the joint will be so much more than a chicken shop. There’ll be banging breakfasts and seriously strong coffee, the freshest tunes all day long, ice cold beers courtesy of The Five Points Brewing Co., New Orleans inspired cocktails including Sex On The Rocks, Peeking Through The Grass Skirts and Kermit’s Middle Leg – and of course that fried chicken. Mother Clucker Signature Strips, Cluckwich, Cajun fries, black-eyed peas, enough hot sauce to melt steel… The works! Open 11:30am-10:30pm, seven days a week, Mother Clucker Exmouth Market Joint will be the go-to destination for a quick bite, few beers and good vibes.

Forget plain white wallpaper and dodgy posters, Mother Clucker Exmouth Market Joint’s walls will be adorned with thousands of Mother Clucker stickers placed there by loving chicken fanatics. And what’s more, Mother Clucker have invited a number of amazing artists including Poppy’s Papercuts, Mr Phomer, Anthony Burrill and more to collaborate on special edition stickers – expect to see them stuck to every in-the-know Londoner’s laptop soon.

Brittney Bean, co-founder of Mother Clucker, said: “After five years of frying chicken from trucks, gazebos and shipping containers all over London, we’re ready to roll out our permanent units with an expanded food and drinks menu. We’re really excited about breakfast, and we’re really excited about Five Points beer and we’re really excited about cocktails, but mostly we’re really, really excited about bringing more people more chicken more of the time.”
