Christie’s is pleased to announce its Fine & Rare Wines auction, which will be held on Tuesday, 15 May 2018 in Geneva. The sale will feature a selection of wines with over 700 lots on offer.
Highlights within the sale include, a rare case of 1945 Latour alongside a 1715 Madeira – the oldest known Madeira in the market as well as a rare assortment case of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1990. Other highlights include pristine cases of Petrus 1996 and ex-cellars from Domaine Haegelen-Jayer Clos Vougeot 1989–2009. The sale is expected to fetch in the region of CHF 3,000,000 – 4,000,000.
A case of Château Latour 1945, still in the original wooden case will be on offer. One of the best Château Latour’s, with a distinct flavor the wine encompasses thirty notes made over five decades. 12 bottles per lot CHF50,000-70,000.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, widely considered among the world’s greatest wine producers, and DRC bottles are among the world’s most expensive. Christie’s will be offering Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Assortment 1990, in its original wooden case. 12 bottles per lot CHF35,000-55,000.
Madeira is a fortified wine made in the Portuguese Madeira Islands, off the coast of Africa. Christie’s will be offering a JCA & C, Terrantez 1715, one of the oldest Madeira to be on the market. 1 bottle per lot CHF5,000-7,000.
