I am a long-standing fan of the restaurants of Robin Gill. So much that I included The Dairy in 2016’s favourite restaurant line up, and The Manor and Paradise Row have taken pride of place many times on my social media.
I was elated to hear about the new member of his family.
Situated where The Manor once was, now resides Sorella, an Italian restaurant using the finest locally sourced or home grown produce.
My visit to Sorella was magnificent from start to finish, and I was clearly in excellent company as Giles Coran was sitting on the adjacent table.
This image was one of my favourite dishes of the day. It is Calston Basset Agnolotti with brassicas from their own farm prepared by Head chef Dean Parker and his team.
The uncomplicated combination of the fresh pasta and the vegetables was sublime.
The agnolotti filled me with joy as the bite-size pillows burst in my mouth like fine fromage fireworks.
Perfection in every way.
I will be returning with The Bearded One.
Top tip: Try the their home made limoncello and lemon sorbet. I took great delight in trying these instead of my regular espresso martini.
