Battersea Arts Centre has appointed Emma Barrow to the role of Commercial Events Director where she will lead a team of five through the relaunch of the Grand Hall following a three year restoration.

As Commercial Events Director Emma is responsible for the leadership of corporate events sales and strategically driving the events business, marketing and promotion of the venue, as well as developing the events catering division of Battersea Arts Centre.

Emma has over ten years’ experience managing private and corporate events in major London arts and cultural institutions. Prior to joining Battersea Arts Centre, Emma was Events Manager at Dulwich Picture Gallery, General Manager at Fisher Productions Ltd and Head of Events at Somerset House.

Emma is a key industry figure offering regular commentary for specialist business reviews, participating in panel discussions and has sat on award judging boards.

On her appointment, Emma says: “I am thrilled to be back at Battersea Arts Centre as Commercial Events Director. I have always been fond of the venue having worked there as Stage Manager on Wanted Man with Toby Jones in 2001.”

“It’s a very exciting time to join the team and I’m looking forward to implementing my vision for driving commercial events across the business, particularly in our revamped Grand Hall which brings something completely new to the current venue scene in a fast-developing area of London.”

David Jubb, Artistic Director and CEO of Battersea Arts Centre said:

“We are delighted to welcome Emma Barrow back to Battersea Arts Centre. Emma’s track record is exceptional and her events management experience is perfectly suited to the historic and beautiful environment of Battersea’s former Town Hall. This iconic building has been a centre for debates, creativity and celebrations for 125 years, and we look forward to working with Emma as we reopen our most stunning space, the Grand Hall, this summer and beyond.”

Battersea Arts Centre is a public space where people come together to be creative, see a show, explore the local heritage, play or relax. The organisation’s mission is to inspire people to take creative risks to shape the future. Shows and projects developed at Battersea Arts Centre also travel across the UK and the world. Battersea Arts Centre is situated in a Grade II Listed Victorian Town Hall building, which hosts commercial hires alongside a lively artistic programme. The building has undergone major capital refurbishments over the past few years, which will culminate in the reopening of the Grand Hall in summer 2018.
