London’s leading healthy eating chain Abokado has revealed that 73% of its employees are women and that more than 62% of them are in management and senior roles.
The company employs 150 women (73%) to 55 men (27%). 62% of the women are store managers and in addition to this Abokado has recently taken on a new Operations Director and Menu Development consultant; both are women.
The company, which was started in 2004 by husband and wife team Mark and Lindsay Lilley, says it is proud to be supporting International Women’s Day on 8 March, championing women’s achievements while calling for gender equality.
Abokado’s CEO Mark Lilley said: “While there is still obviously a great need for awareness days like today, we have always welcomed individuals with passion, commitment and team spirit into the Abokado family, regardless of their gender. In my experience women bring a unique set of skills to the workplace including high emotional intelligence, intuition and empathy.”
