Orrery marks 21 years by unveiling new design & new menu

By James Russell: Orrery marks 21 years by unveiling new design & new menu

February 4, 2018

Fillet steak Tartare quail egg, sourdough & truffle

On 10th February, Orrery, the French restaurant in the heart of Marylebone, will mark its 21st anniversary by re-opening with a beautiful new interior and a new menu from Chef Patron Igor Tymchyshyn.

Working closely with David D’Almada of Sagrada, the furniture, artwork and textiles take inspiration from the south of France with details of lavender panelling and handmade terracotta clay pots. The dining room will have muted tones of grey, blue and lilac throughout. The space will be brightened by the floor to ceiling arched windows, framing the St Marylebone Church courtyard, and flooding the restaurant with natural daylight.

Heritage beetroot, Sainte Maure, kohlrabi & radish

Igor’s cooking will remain the star of the show, the food a masterclass in classic and modern French cooking. Its inspiration is taken from the finest ingredients sourced largely from British suppliers and France’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Valrhona Manjari, pineapple, salted caramel tuile

The menu features new dishes of fillet steak tartare with a sourdough and truffle dressing and a signature Kentish lamb wellington with salsify and garlic, for two to share. Original favourites will remain, including the Tournedos Rossini with celeriac and sauce périgordine and Igor’s Jerusalem artichoke risotto. Orrery’s celebrated cheese trolley is on offer after dinner, and will showcase over thirty artisan cheeses all curated by the restaurant’s very own ‘frommelier’, and for those keen to learn more, the restaurant will host regular cheese and wine evenings throughout the year.

Cornish turbot, moulis, chilli, ginger & orange

“We’re looking forward to embarking on this next chapter for Orrery. In the midst of celebrating such a huge milestone for the restaurant, it was the right time to take on a more sophisticated look, while retaining the spirit of us being very much a neighbourhood restaurant. Orrery holds special memories for a lot of our guests and we are looking forward to creating new memories and continuing with our journey.” says Chef Patron Igor Tymchyshyn.
