Pay what you want for Poké

By James Russell: Pay what you want for Poké

January 8, 2018

Ahi Poké will mark the opening of their two new homes in Bloomberg Arcade and Spitalfields by offering their feel-good bowls of poké for whatever spare change customers have in their pockets, all to raise money for The Elton John AIDS foundation.

‘The opening of two new homes in Bloomberg Arcade and Spitalfields will be our biggest achievement yet so we had to celebrate accordingly. Extending the season of goodwill, we wanted to do something to raise money for a cause close to the team’s hearts. So for one day only we’re offering our beloved bowls of poké for however much customers want to pay, from a penny to a pound or ten!”

Opening on 22nd January in Old Spitalfields Market and at the beginning of February in Bloomberg Arcade, co-founders and childhood friends Jeremy Coste, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and David Bellaiche will bring their signature burst of sunshine to the City with a Californian-fuelled take on Pacific pokè, packed with fresh, sustainable ingredients. Not only will they be raising money for charity, but to celebrate the new openings Michelin-trained Head Chef Jeremy and boutique fitness studio, Psycle’s CEO Rhian Stephenson have joined forces to create a limited edition Ahi Poké bowl which will include kale topped with marinated tofu, pickled ginger, kimchi cucumber, coconut roasted sweet potato, burnt corn, coriander and a Green tahini dressing.

Jeremy has concocted new recipes for the Winter months to add a little heat to their bowls, from Spicy chicken, to Korean BBQ sauce, smashed yuzu avocado, and miso tofu. These new additions will stand alongside Ahi Poké favourites, including the Heat Wave, Oahu and Venice bowls.
