New General Manager appointed at Bristol hotel

By James Russell: New General Manager appointed at Bristol hotel

January 5, 2018

Greg Csikos, General Manager, Hampton by Hilton, Bristol

A new General Manager has been appointed at one of Bristol’s leading three-star, city-centre hotels.

Greg Csikos has now taken over the helm at Hampton by Hilton, Bristol where he will oversee the day-to-day operation at the city-centre based venue.

Greg replaces Imran Ali who was instrumental in overseeing the opening of the hotel in 2015 and has gone on to become one of the city’s main accommodation assets for both business people and tourists.

Located on the corner of Bond Street and York Street, the hotel formed a major conversion of what was York House, a 1960s office block. Managed by Focus Hotels Management Ltd, it includes 186 bedrooms right in the heart of the city.

Originally from Budapest in Hungary, Greg moved to the UK in 2006 having worked at the Marriott in the popular capital city. Wanting to experience more, he spent a year at the 650-bedroom Renaissance Hotel at Heathrow followed by a two year stint in the more tranquil setting of the Meon Valley.

Following a short holiday to Bristol, Greg liked the ambience of the city so much, he decided to move to the capital of the West Country where he has been ever since, working at the Bristol Marriott where he was food and beverage manager and more recently as director of operations at DoubleTree by Hilton, Bristol City Centre.

He now hopes his European-wide experience will add to the growing reputation of a venue that has now become a key asset for Bristol in terms of tourism and business travellers.

Greg said: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity and to build on what Imran has already achieved. The hotel has enjoyed excellent occupancy levels since opening and is down to the superb level of service and attention to detail by the team.

“I’ll now be looking to build on what Imran has put in place while consolidating the venue’s position as one of the leading venues in Bristol and supporting the city’s reputation as a major player in terms of business and tourism.”
