The H&C News Christmas party took place last Thursday evening at Coworth Park in Ascot, Berkshire where the H&C News and H&C EXPO teams were joined by some of our long-standing suppliers and customers.
It is the second year that we have celebrated Christmas at Coworth Park and from our experience last year it was a pleasure to book again.
If you are looking for a luxury hotel Coworth Park will tick most boxes for most people, offering almost every facility a visitor could ever want or wish for. For those looking for that something special there is the Dower House, a three-bedroom, grade II-listed Georgian residence with its own kitchen, living rooms, and a stream-sliced garden where the estate’s swans hold court.
We were looking for a special Christmas party, so we booked a private dining room, when we arrived the room was set out flawlessly. We had a last-minute cancellation on the evening and with fifteen minutes to go before we were seated the table was re arranged, it was once again flawless.
Chef Adam Smith earned a Michelin star for Coworth Park in October, Adam and his brigade compiled a menu last Thursday that was judged by us unanimously to be thoroughly worthy of that star.
The wines were selected by Head Sommelier and Director of Restaurant Jonathan Ellson with Alistair Morrell our wine editor. One of our guests commented: “I can’t make up my mind if the Michelin star Christmas dinner complimented the wine perfectly or visa versa.” It made for lively debate later in the evening as we enjoyed cocktails.
What in our experience sets Coworth Park apart is the perfect service. You are looked after in every way, nothing is too much trouble, no detail is overlooked, and everything is delivered graciously with seemingly no effort.
Perfection of course is unobtainable, but last Thursday was for us, as close as it gets…
So, our thanks to Jonathan Ellson and team, we look forward to doing it all again next Christmas.
Every Detail was planned and executed with flawless precision
