Daniel Clifford’s, Essex based fine-dining restaurant, The Flitch of Bacon has opened its doors to retired members of the community for a complimentary Christmas meal on the 20th December.
The three course complimentary lunch is a newly formed initiative from the restaurant and aims to provide pensioners with an exclusive reservation for a high-end meal, as a token of gratitude to the community this Christmas from Chef Patron Daniel Clifford and Head Chef Martin Major.
The initiative, spearheaded by Daniel Clifford asks members of the community to nominate a retired relative, friend or outstanding person who deserves the reward as an early and truly bespoke Christmas gift; The successful applicants will receive a private reservation for themselves and one nominated guest in Essex’s finest restaurant with Clifford and Major both on hand to prepare a sumptuous three course Christmas menu.
Speaking on the initiative, Daniel Clifford, Owner of The Flitch of Bacon and two Michelin-starred Midsummer House, commented:
“The Flitch is an intensely personal project for me and I’m glad to have had the chance to buy my local pub in a place like Dunmow. We’re really proud to be a part of the local community here, as they (among other things) have aided The Flitch in becoming so popular. It was a no-brainer in thanking them in some way and this is the very least we could do.
Clifford Continued:
By offering this Christmas meal at The Flitch, we’re giving members of the community a chance to show an older person that they haven’t been forgotten about during the busy Christmas season. We think it is an awesome gesture and highlights something that shouldn’t be overlooked during the festive period.”
