A number of RBS employees and their BaxterStorey catering team have raised an impressive £4,000 for the 2017 STV Children’s Appeal, which took place last Friday. The Edinburgh show was filmed live from RBS Gogaburn, where Dawn Gatensby and Mark McCulloch, from BaxterStorey, presented their cheque to the STV Children’s Appeal.
The team undertook a broad scope of activities to reach their fundraising total, which is double last year’s figure. These included braving the Tough Mudder challenge and donning their studded boots and shin pads for a five-a-side football match.
Meanwhile, back onsite at RBS Gogaburn, the team created a Hamburger Concept with STV’s Sean Batty and hosted a STV Big Scottish Breakfast, with all donations from the pancake bar going to the Appeal. In addition, 10p from every Grab and Go Hub tuna and mayonnaise sandwich, sold at RBS sites across Scotland in 2017, was added to the fundraising amount.
Dawn Gatensby, BaxterStorey based at RBS Gogarburn, said: “We were delighted to present the £4,000 cheque live on air to the STV Children’s Appeal. It’s been great to see more colleagues get on board with this year’s fundraising efforts and we hope to repeat our success next year, raising much-needed funds for this very worthy cause.”
Mark McCulloch, BaxterStorey Operations Manager for Scotland, said: “The team has shown such commitment throughout the year. One-in-four children in Scotland is affected by poverty and the money we’ve raised will support vulnerable children in every local authority across the country.
“I look forward to seeing what our 2018 fundraising campaign has in store!”
