Last night saw the latest CookForSYRIA supper take place, hosted by specialist equipment and ingredients supplier, KitchenLab UK and Flat Three.
The event was held at Flat Three in London’s Holland Park where head chef Pavel Kanja is best known for his intense fermented flavours and Japanese & Korean fusion dishes. To mark the special occasion and celebrate Word Vegan Day, he devised and cooked a Syrian inspired, vegan tasting menu for 40 guests which included chefs from The Fat Duck, Tom’s Kitchen, Typing Room, Fera and Restaurant 27.
‘’This was a great opportunity to get together with amazing chefs and industry friends to raise awareness and funds for a very worthy cause,” commented Mat Froggatt, director of KitchenLab UK. “We’re really humbled by everyone’s generosity and being able to help this great initiative.’’
There were a number of unique prizes raffled on the night with all ticket sales going straight to Unicef’s Children Of Syria Fund. KitchenLab will continue to raise money by selling CookForSYRIA cookbooks, signed by some of the UK’s most renowned chefs including Heston Blumenthal, Marcus Wareing, Tom Aikens and Marianne Lumb. These will be available throughout November via KitchenLab’s website and social media platforms.
