The food prep was well underway when we arrived at the latest Open Kitchen Live event at Equipline’s development kitchens in Uxbridge earlier this month.
Open Kitchen Live events see chefs demonstrating menu development ideas while attendees, watch, taste and talk food.
As always, the event was well attended and guests were treated by four chefs to a wide array of dishes on the day.
The conversations were also in full flow, chefs and restauranteurs were asking much of the chefs on duty, and they delivered.
Chef Craig Floate said:
“As a chef who works with many others and in many different outlets, menu development is unsurprisingly a frequent topic of conversation. The chefs at Open Kitchen Live provide ideas that you can take away and apply. It was great to see my friend Hugh McGivern in action he is always so passionate about his food, it was also great to meet MasterChef finalist and now MasterChef guest judge, Daksha Mistry – thanks for the burgers Daksha.
I thought I knew all about Frima and Rational equipment, not so, both were in action and both were surprising me. Some of the events I work at cater for large numbers who need feeding quickly, ideas on the day from Frima and Rational will help, significantly.”
Daniel Pearson from Mustard Foods attended with one of his chefs, Carlos, Daniel was as equally enthused as Craig with the chefs and equipment telling us:
“Producing over 120 tonnes of food a month, reaching 450+ restaurants nationwide through Frima and Rational equipment, these events ensure were using the equipment to its full potential. We look forward to attending the next demonstration.”
The food was flowing and dishes continually presented themselves as the afternoon developed.
