On 28th July, Ceviche Old St will celebrate Peruvian Independence Day with a truly fitting fiesta, reflecting the vibrancy, diversity and energy of Peru; its food, culture and music. Kicking off the start of their Summer of Pisco, the party will have Peru’s national drink firmly at the heart of its celebrations, along with live music from Kieffer Santander & Lokandes with chef and DJ Martin Morales spinning records on the decks.
Founder and chef Martin Morales and Head Chef Vito Reyes will present Peruvian classics from Ceviche Old St’s award-winning menu, from their Don Ceviche to their Lomo Saltado; Chifa inspired beef fillet with amarillo chilli and Corazon de la Tia; panca marinated beef heart skewers from the grill and the Peruvian archetype; Pastel de Choclo, light corn cake with Huancaina sauce, avocado and Botija olives. Live music will play late into the night with Kieffer Santander and Lokandes, whose Peruvian funk and soul represents their dynamic music, with up-tempo, alternative modern takes on Afro Peruvian and Andean songs. Ceviche founder Martin Morales will also play a DJ set showcasing the depth of Lima’s underground music scene, old and new.
Shaking things up behind the bar, Miguel Arbe will present a line-up of Peruvian Piscos, from the classic ‘Catedral Pisco Sour’ – an extra large Pisco Sour, to new creations such as Monayo with roasted peanut-infused pisco, cacao liquor, soy milk and nutmeg and Tilsa with Barsol torontel pisco, rose and vanilla-infused maraschino and nigori sake. Ceviche Old St’s Peruvian Independence Day will usher in the start of a weekly rotating, unique Pisco cocktails available exclusively at Ceviche Old St, designed by Miguel who will draw inspiration from seasonal and fresh British produce each week.
Ceviche Old St’s Peruvian Independence Day celebration will take place on 28th July, 5pm – late.
