Rotunda helps New Horizons charity to raise in excess of £25,000

By James Russell: Rotunda helps New Horizons charity to raise in excess of £25,000

July 17, 2017

Hospitality company Green & Fortune has helped New Horizons Youth Centre charity to raise over £25,000 as a part of its 50th anniversary celebrations with a summer party hosted at the Rotunda Bar and Restaurant in King’s Cross.

The event which took place on 26th June saw over 100 attendees from businesses and individuals committed to helping the charity raise money to benefit vulnerable and at risk young people in London.

Green & Fortune partnered with New Horizons for the 50th anniversary year, to raise awareness of the great work the charity is doing, as well as raise valuable funds. The sun shone throughout the evening and waiting staff, even wore New Horizons branded T-shirts throughout the event showing their support for the charity.

The event included a BBQ and raffle on Rotunda’s canal side terrace, followed by an auction chaired by Channel 4 newsreader Jon Snow who is a patron of the charity after working with the Youth Centre for several years in the 1970’s.

New Horizons was founded in 1967 by Lord Longford to address the needs of young people who were involved in drug misuse in the West End of London. Today, based in the King’s Cross area, the charity continues to work with the most vulnerable and at risk young people and is managed by a voluntary Board of Trustees.

Green & Fortune, CEO John Nugent commented “New Horizons is such a great charity and we’re delighted to be able to help them in this very special year for them. As a hospitality provider, we employ a number of young people across the business and witness first-hand the issues many of them face daily, it’s fantastic to see a charity dedicated to supporting them and raising awareness of homelessness in particular. The generosity of the people attending was encouraging to see with Jon Snow even auctioning his own tie, the money raised will make a huge difference to the day-to-day operations of the charity.”
