Next generation hotel brand Thistle Express, glh’s new hotel concept, is launching its first hotel in the heart of Luton today.
Thistle Express is aimed at the savvy, value-conscious, modern traveller; providing more choice when it comes to booking trips.
The hotel offers fast, free Wi-Fi, bottomless tea and coffee and free breakfast for all guests. Travellers will find Smart TVs to stream their own content in every bedroom, along with blackout curtains and Hypnos mattresses for a good night’s sleep. Guests can refuel for the day with the hotel’s delicious, free buffet breakfast, offering a selection of hot food as well as lighter continental options of fresh fruit, yoghurt and pastries. With no need to check out, Thistle Express is turning the traditional hotel experience on its head.
Ideal for both leisure and business travellers, the 152 bedroom hotel is ideally located in the heart of the town centre, near The Mall and overlooking St George’s Square fountains. It’s the ideal place for guests to drop their bags, head off to that wedding, get ready for their big presentation, or get some well-deserved shut-eye. For those travelling further afield, Luton Airport is a short 10 minute drive away, and the bright lights of London St Pancras are a mere 22 minutes on the train.
The 10-story building has seen significant investment in its refurbishment, designed by architects Unwin Jones Partnership and carried out by Novus Property Solutions. The interior has been dreamt up by Faber Design who recently created the Formula 1 R&D Centre, now used as the new headquarters for a leading Formula 1 motorsport company.
