The Fleece rises from the ashes

By James Russell: The Fleece rises from the ashes

July 11, 2017

The Seafood Pub Company has successfully sailed into Yorkshire with The Fleece in Addingham reopening to rave reviews after being closed since September 2015 when the Grade-two listed building suffered significant damage in a fire.

The venue has undergone an £1.2 million redevelopment programme with the Seafood Pub Company giving it a new lease of life.

A traditional Yorkshire bar is now complemented by a first-floor Gin and Champagne bar and contemporary function and dining rooms. Old meets new in the characterful venue with breath-taking high beams, traditional stone fittings, bronze bars and some signature Seafood Pub Company finishing touches.

“We were so excited to open the doors to The Fleece; anticipation was been really high amongst locals,” said Seafood Pub Company managing director Joycelyn Neve.

“The village was without the heartbeat of its community for so long and it has been really encouraging to receive so many well wishes from local businesses and individuals who have been eagerly anticipating the venue reopening.

“The feedback we have had so far from previous regulars and new customers alike has been fantastic and we are really looking forward to The Fleece once again becoming an integral part of life in Addingham.”

The Seafood Pub Company’s move into Yorkshire will increase further later this year when they open the Inn at South Stainley (previously the Red Lion). It is currently undergoing an extensive redevelopment programme and once open will be a pub, restaurant and function space with 260 covers and modern guest bedrooms.
