Borough Market are to donate all the proceeds of their ‘Borough Talks’ series to The Trader Relief Fund, set up by the Borough Market Charity and their trustees, United St Saviours Charity and Better Bankside to help individuals and businesses who have suffered financial hardship and losses as a result of the temporary closure of the Borough Market area, and have no other means of support.
The talks delve into the world of food and drink, exploring the key issues and topics currently facing the industry. The hour-long discussions span across areas including literature, technology and sustainability with the proceeds of each talk going towards the relief fund.
The next talk ‘How to join the drinks revolution’ on the 11th of July will centre on what it takes to be a success in the dynamic world of British drinks. Internationally renowned drinks creator Tony Conigliaro, will be creating a one off cocktail for the night, designed to taste like a snowflake melting on your tongue and will be joined by writer and broadcaster Dave Broom together with Master of Wine Catriona Felstead alongside Sybil Kapoor and Dan Tapper to discuss the rise of micro breweries and distilleries and the surge in London’s cocktail scene.
Borough Market’s Three Crown Square, the beating heart of the Market, will be the atmospheric setting for the talk, the Victorian glass and ironwork roof creating the backdrop for evening’s filled with discussion and debate.
