Alton Towers Hotel and Conference Centre has joined Venues of Excellence to become the consortium’s 38th member.
The news comes as the sales and marketing consortium prepares for The Meetings Show from 13th-15th June where Venues of Excellence will be sharing a stand with ten partners this year.
For over 25 years, Venues of Excellence has focused on bringing together a group of dedicated conference, training and event providers who share the highest possible standards of facilities and service quality.
Stuart Websdale, chairman of Venues of Excellence said: “The strategic investment we made in the repositioning of our Venues of Excellence brand in 2016 has come to fruition, reflected in the diversity of our membership. Our members range from academic venues and sporting venues like Newbury Racecourse to auditoriums, residential and non-residential venues.
“Our newest member, Alton Towers Hotel and Conference Centre, adds to the diversity of our portfolio. The venue has won many prestigious industry awards for its high quality facilities and professionalism and we delighted to welcome them as members.”
Karen Johnson, corporate sales manager for Alton Towers Hotel and Conference Centre, said: “Alton Towers Resort prides itself on the unique meeting and event facilities that we provide to the very highest standards. Joining Venues of Excellence is an incredibly exciting milestone for us and we look forward to working with other venues within the consortium to share industry insight and best practice.”
A unique aspect of the hotel and resort is that it offers bookers an opportunity to create bespoke events using the external space or theme park to enhance team building events, as well as to hire out areas or all of the space exclusively. The unique facilities include the impressive State Room and Emperor Suite for large corporate events and conferences, as well as many highly specified meeting and syndicate rooms for smaller meeting and syndicate rooms.
Stuart Websdale said: “The diversity of our members places us in a strong position for further growth. We continue to attract like-minded organisations keen to come under the umbrella of a quality consortium and to avail of the many benefits that strength by numbers brings, from marketing, training, purchasing and sales support to networking opportunities and sharing good practice, idea exchange and benchmarking.
“Our aim over the next twelve months is to increase our geographical footprint to strengthen our presence nationwide.”
Venues of Excellence will be exhibiting at The Meetings Show (Stand Number G601) at Olympia from 13-15 June 2017 where Mandy Jennings, sales and membership director of Venues of Excellence, will be available to share further insight into the consortium’s work.
