A world leading hospitality executive visited Bristol to check out a city-centre hotel that is regarded as being one of the best in the business.
Phil Cordell, who is the global head of Hampton by Hilton brand, visited the Bond Street-based hotel of the same name, to congratulate staff on its recent performance and especially, their recent score of 99.26 per cent in the quality assurance audit which is considered to the best across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
During his visit, the internationally recognised Cordell was presented with a Concorde inscribed piece of Bristol Blue Glass while being entertained by legendary Bristol saxophone player James Morton.
He then presented staff member Ruby Brindez with a ‘Spirit of Hampton Award’ certificate recognising her efforts on high standards of customer care.
Following a tour of the premises he gave a speech to the team outlining that the welcome he had received from the Bristol hotel had been the best in a long time.
Imran Ali, general manager of Hampton by Hilton, Bristol City Centre said: “This was a very rare visit by someone who is regarded as being a pioneer in hospitality right across the globe.
“Phil oversees 2,300 venues just in the Hampton brand alone and it was great to welcome him here to Bristol. Although he’s worked in the sector for over 30 years, his enthusiasm and energy is infectious and the staff were on a real high during and after his visit.
“We’ve come a long way since opening over two years ago and we’ll now look at how we can not only maintain our position as the best Hampton across the EMEA region but maybe become the best Hampton globally!”
