Marco Pierre White has strengthened the team at his North Somerset steakhouse with the appointment of several key staff.
A new restaurant manager, assistant manager, head chef and supervisor have joined the team at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill to work alongside other long-serving staff, some of which have been at the venue for up to 47 years.
Leading the team is experienced restaurant manager Mimmo Pomo, who previously managed the restaurant from 2011 – 2015, before moving to Marco’s Wiltshire venue The Rudloe Arms.
Now back in charge at the Congresbury eatery, which is located at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House, Mimmo brings his passion for quality dining and his experience in working in top restaurants in France, Spain and Greece to the table.
Originally from Puglia on the ‘heel of Italy’ Mimmo’s extensive knowledge of hospitality also comes from managing other top Bristol restaurants including Aqua Bar & Restaurant and San Carlo.
He said: “For me making sure the atmosphere is right in the restaurant is as important as the quality of food. Ensuring the service and overall dining experience is unforgettable is top of my agenda and I think my new team achieves it wonderfully at MPW Bristol.
“In the last two years I have worked extremely closely with Marco at his Corsham hotel. During this time I have learnt a lot and gained a great understanding of what Marco wants to achieve at his restaurants. His passion and energy is infectious and it’s definitely rubbed off on me.
“It is fantastic to be back in charge here at Cadbury House, it feels like I’ve come home. We now have a really strong team in place, including the super talented Jason in the kitchen, to provide diners with an exceptional experience every time.”
Joining Mimmo is new assistant restaurant manager Jade Kelsall who comes from the Two-AA Rosette holding Flying Fish Restaurant in Falmouth, Cornwall.
Jade, from Bedminster, said: “I love the fast-paced environment of hospitality where you meet new and interesting people and get to create lasting experiences and memories for customers.
“I also love being part of a team, it’s great to see how everyone evolves and develops together. There’s nothing more satisfying than having a busy dinner service and seeing the adrenalin and buzz it creates within the team.
“It’s such a fantastic opportunity to work for a brand headed by one of the greatest chefs of all time. The team extends beyond our Bristol steakhouse, we have lots of support from the brand too and I feel very proud to work here.”
Taking the reins in the kitchen is Jason Everett, who helped Marco Pierre White attain two of his three Michelin Stars at his famed Harveys restaurant in London.
Jason, worked with the Hell’s Kitchen star for two years alongside Gordon Ramsay, and now plans to make the Bristol venue the brand’s flagship steakhouse where he will teach tomorrow’s cooks the methods and skills that made Marco world famous.
He said: “I want to create something where the expectations are high and there is a good level of consistency so that customers and guests can experience Marco’s vision of affordable glamour.
“We have already launched a brand new menu for Summer 2017 and we’re putting the finishing touches to an all-new Sunday Lunch offering. I’m excited to see what we can do here.”
Also joining the team is Jamie McIntyre, restaurant supervisor and Jonny Edwards, head chef.
