There are plenty of Foodie Festivals taking place over the summer in the UK, but one of them, still going from strength to strength in size and popularity, is Taste of London. This year’s event in Regents Park stands to be bigger and better than ever.
When we arrived at Dabbous the champagne was already in full flow and the basement full of stylishly dressed patrons with an air of knowing anticipation.
Laurent Perrier Champagne and Cocktails found empty hands and were thoroughly enjoyed in the buzz of the basement.
After our lovely first glass of Laurent Perrier the speeches started, first on the stairs was Justin Clarke, Managing Director of Taste Festivals. He spoke passionately about his excitement for this year’s event and introduced some of the newcomers such as Temper, Señor Ceviche, Oldroyd, and Jamavar.
He went on to introduce Cecile Reboot, who is the Event Director this year. With his prestigious background in food and hospitality, I’m quite certain that the organisers feel the festival is in great and capable hands.
With an impressive line-up of dining experiences, tasters, samplings, discoveries and even more places to enjoy your tipples, this year’s event looks to be even more formidable than last years.
The canapes of beef on sour dough, spiced roasted cauliflower, and my favourite of the night, wild boar sausage rolls delighted our palettes.
The preview evening left me looking forward to this year’s event. With more than 160 taster-sized portions of signature dishes on offer from 40 of London’s latest, greatest and most exciting restaurants, I simply can’t wait!
Not sure which ones I’m most looking forward to sampling most, needless to say, my tickets are already bought. See you there x
