Developer Downing has agreed a ten-year lease with the award-winning Italian-inspired coffee house chain, Caffè Nero, for the ground floor of its newly opened CitySide student development in Leeds.
The brand has taken a 2,200 sq. ft. ground floor unit at the development on Calverley Street, including a spacious outdoor seating area.
The double height unit features floor-to-ceiling windows and was delivered to a specification allowing the Caffè Nero team to quickly transform the space to meet their requirements.
CitySide is situated within the heart of Leeds’ bustling university quarter and the scheme houses high quality student accommodation in the upper levels. The complex is also close to Leeds General Infirmary, and attracts strong footfall from patients and hospital workers.
John Clegg, head of property management at Downing, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Caffè Nero to CitySide, Caffè Nero is one of the UK’s leading brands and will be a fantastic addition to the CitySide complex.
“The unit sits within a vibrant development located within the centre of Leeds’ student community, which attracts great footfall from both students and local workers. We’re expecting the cafe to be very popular with our student tenants and local residents.”
