Held annually on 15 June, National Beer Day, also known as Beer Day Britain, is a national celebration of British beer. To honour the occasion, Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa is hosting a week of festivities at the Hotel. Celebrations will include a special four course set tasting menu, running from 15-18 June in Squires, the Hotel’s 2AA Rosette restaurant.
The menu has been designed to highlight the versatility of beer; enhancing the beer drinking experience with innovative food and drink pairings. In keeping with the Hotel’s mission to celebrate local produce, the dishes have been created using the finest ingredients from the East Anglia region.
The celebratory menu has been carefully planned by Executive Head Chef, Sean Melville, formerly at The Ritz and The Dorchester, and senior sous chef, Jamie Mountford who appeared on last season’s Masterchef: The Professionals. It includes exquisite pairings such as: fillet carpaccio with a sour, tart and funky, Belgian-style Flanders beer; sea scallop with a fruity and spicy beer to cleanse the palate; and pork pachanga with a hoppy and bitter yet fruity and sweet IPA. The dessert offers the perfect finishing touch for beer-lovers – beer doughnuts, ale ganache, vanilla whipped cream cheese and stout mousse; accompanied by a malty and sweet, dark and roasty, German-style bock.

The Hotel’s 2AA Rosette Squires restaurant, open to both residents and non-residents, is known for taking classic British dishes and giving them a contemporary twist to provide diners with a unique dining experience.
