The Village Hotel Group has appointed Jamie Stevens to the newly created position of Senior General Manager Scotland with immediate effect, to oversee the ongoing development of the chain’s properties in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
In part, the promotion is in recognition of Stevens’ sterling stewardship of Village Hotel Glasgow which has flourished since opening in 2015, with increasing year on year occupancy levels as well as a clutch of awards, most recently being named Scotland’s Brand Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards.
Prior to joining the Village Group as Glasgow GM in 2015, Stevens held senior management positions with a number of prestigious hotel brands including Malmaison, Abode and Hilton and was voted General Manager of the Year two years ago at the Scottish Hotel Awards.
Stevens attended the Ivy League’s Cornell University in 2016 through a HIT Scotland scholarship and graduated from the exclusive General Manager programme at the School of Hotel Administration, a course completed by only a handful of elite attendees annually.
Stevens is also currently Co-Chair of Greater Glasgow Hoteliers’ Association, which represents the interests of the Greater Glasgow accommodation providers who directly employ an estimated 30,000 people in and around the city.
