The Old Swan in Harrogate, one of Classic Lodges’ of 15 nationwide hotels, has appointed Hayley Elliker as Sales Manager to renew its focus on the growing conferences and events sector.
The hotel, which hosted Agatha Christie in the 1920s after she mysteriously disappeared from her home, has facilities that can cater for all different types of events and conferences; from the Garden Ballroom that can host up to 450 delegates; to the Library, which can host smaller and more niche events for 10-20 attendees.
Hayley, who has 18 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, says this versatility attracted her to The Old Swan: “The hotel’s ability to host events from weddings to conferences, banqueting events and birthdays gives me a great deal of flexibility in attracting new business.”
Having previously worked in sales roles at multiple locations for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Hayley has experience in attracting and managing successful events. She had also previously worked in Harrogate for the Hotel du Vin, and says she had wanted to return: “It is the perfect opportunity and Classic Lodges has a reputation as an excellent employer,” she adds. “I am looking forward to working in a fun and business-driven environment.”
