Café Rouge has raised more than £100,000 for the NSPCC by donating 5p for every cup of coffee sold in its restaurants across the UK.

The French bistro-style restaurant business is 12 months into a three-year fundraising partnership with the children’s charity, with the monies being used to protect young people from abuse and neglect and to help victims rebuild their lives.

Simon Wilkinson, Managing Director, Café Rouge: “At the end of February we completed the first year of our partnership with the NSPCC, and have raised a total of £101,230 for this much-loved, important, and very worthwhile organisation.

“The amount is just over the target we set ourselves, and bodes well for the rest of the three-year agreement we have with the NSPCC.”

Nigel Spencer, Director of Fundraising at the NSPCC, said: “We are really thankful for the commitment and generosity of Café Rouge and the coffee drinking habits of all it customers. Never has so much money been raised through such a pleasurable pastime!

“I hope the coffee continues to flow freely over the next couple of years in Café Rouge’s restaurants enabling us to help more and more young people in need of advice, support and treatment as a result of suffering from abuse or neglect.”

Founded in 1884, the NSPCC is the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. It helps children who have been abused, protects those at risk, and finds the best ways of preventing abuse from happening.
