Leading bar & restaurant group Revoluciòn de Cuba debuts in Belfast

By James Russell: Leading bar & restaurant group Revoluciòn de Cuba debuts in Belfast

April 1, 2017

This summer, Revolution Bars Group will open a Revoluciòn de Cuba in Belfast, its first in Northern Ireland, bringing the current portfolio to 14 across the UK.  This opening marks the 69th bar opening within Revolution Bars Group and will look to employ approximately 70 people from the local area.

Opening this July the premium cocktail bar and restaurant will be located in the heart of the city centre on Arthur Street adjacent to Cornmarket and Victoria Square. The listed, two-storey mid-terrace former bank building dates back to the 1800s and was once the head office for Dunville & Co., one of the best-known names in Irish whiskey.

The 6,200 square foot property features ground floor and mezzanine bars, 324 covers and external seating by the entrance. The interior is Cuban-inspired and vibrant, reflecting the brand’s classic Havana style. The Revoluciòn de Cuba brand is driven by premium Cuban rums and creative cocktails, with food influences from across Latin America along with weekly live music.

As one of the UK’s fastest growing bar and restaurant brands in the hospitality sector, opening eight new sites in 21 months to-date, Revolution Bars Group embark on an ambitious roll-out with plans to further expand the estate in Northern Ireland over the next couple of years.

Mark McQuater, CEO of Revolution Bars Group comments: “Belfast represents an exciting location for us in a site with real heritage. We very much look forward to bringing the rich Cuban culture to this vibrant city and opening our first Revoluciòn de Cuba in Northern Ireland.”
