I do love attending Harbour + Jones events, the experiences are always big and bold and the locations always stunning.
This latest event was at RSA House to showcase their new breakfast menu. RSA House is tucked away just off the Strand, this magnificent Georgian building houses elegant high-ceilinged ballrooms, cosy exposed brick vaults and stylish boardrooms. Designed by famous architect Robert Adam in the early 1770s, it is the historic home of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), a famous centre for enlightened thinking.
The house has recently undergone a £3 million refurbishment, which has created a technologically advanced space fit for the 21st century, but still strongly linked with the architectural heritage of the Adam brothers.
The first option after arrival was tea or coffee with fruit kebabs. There were plenty of smoothies too. Green ones with kale, elderflower, ginger and cherry blossom, orange ones with mango, mandarin, bamboo and coconut. Both were rather yummy and a great start to the morning.
The next offering was Granola, with various milks, fruits and boosters. The food continued to flow and next was Chef Darren making fresh scrambled eggs. It was loaded into egg-shell cups and covered in either mushroom, bacon, smoked salmon and/or salmon eggs. These were amazing. I love the popping of the salmon eggs and their bursts of flavour with the warm egg.
The final canapés were probably my favourite, poached quail’s egg florentine, taster spoons full of kedgeree, and little sausages. I definitely had a few each of these.
With stunning flowers from Larry Walshe, the ambiance was bright and fresh and certainly shouting of the season.
Thank you again to all the Harbour + Jones Team, It was a great start to the day and certainly put a ‘Spring’ in my step.
