Bennett Hay named in the top 30 best places to work in hospitality, for the third year running

By James Russell: Bennett Hay named in the top 30 best places to work in hospitality, for the third year running

April 27, 2017

The ‘Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ accolade showcases hospitality operators who demonstrate exceptional skill at employee engagement, which promotes a happy, motivated – and in turn productive – workforce. An independent, confidential survey run in partnership with Purple Cubed, bespoke hospitality provider Bennett Hay has been named on the list, for the third year running.

Employee engagement is critical for the hospitality industry, in which a high turnover rate remains a considerable challenge. According to a report from Deloitte ‘Hospitality 2015’ employee turnover in hospitality can be as high as 31%, which is nearly double the average rate for other industries.

Bennett Hay emphasises work-life balance, career and personal development, communication, shared values and leadership. The company has successfully implemented many employee engagement initiatives, including an annual dinner and dance for the entire Bennett Hay family. These include a ‘Guest First’ awards for teams and individuals who’ve made an outstanding contribution to the business. They also run a ‘Transformational Training Academy’ and an employee volunteering scheme run by Benefacto, as well as their equity share ownership programme.

Claire Huish, Colleague Services Manager at Bennett Hay has commented: “The people who make up the Bennett Hay team are our most valuable resource. As a company we want to do whatever we can to make a positive difference to our people’s happiness and wellbeing. We’re delighted that our colleagues have reconfirmed our employer of choice status.”

Robin Hay, Co-Founder of Bennett Hay has said: “We continue to find creative ways of engaging and retaining our colleagues, as we recognise that the strength of our employer brand has a major impact on our service delivery. As a bespoke hospitality provider, we see that happy employees mean happy customers and this is the link that directly supports our mission of creating memorable guest service experiences for our clients.”
